Document mode

Document mode gives a page a second life as a paginated presentation — a printable document built from the same sections, with a cover, a page rail, and a downloadable PDF.

Turning it on

Open the Pages modal from the toolbar, expand the page, and switch on Document mode. Nothing changes on the normal page; the document view is an addition.

Once it is on, two buttons appear:

• Viewers get a View as document button in the bottom-right corner of the page, which opens the presentation at /present/<page>.
• Editors get an Edit as document button in the same corner, which opens the full-screen document editor.

Editing the document

The document editor shows the paginated result with a settings panel alongside it.

• Cover — Title, Label, Date, a cover image, and Background / Accent colours.
• Header — Client, Project and Date label appear as a crumb line on every page; empty fields are left out.
• Per section — each heading on the page becomes a chunk of the document. For each you can untick Include in document, choose where text and images sit, split the chunk at its sub-headings with Split pages at, and pick an image layout.

These settings live with the page, so they are saved and published along with your other edits.

The PDF

Each publish renders a PDF of every document-mode page. Viewers download it from the Download PDF button in the presentation’s toolbar. Where a page is restricted by audience, each audience gets its own PDF containing only what it is allowed to see.
