Managing pages & groups

Your portal can have any number of pages, each with its own sections. The Pages modal — opened from the Pages button in the top toolbar — is where you add, arrange, and group them.

Every page appears as a row showing its title and URL path. Click a row to expand its settings:

  • Title — the name shown in the sidebar and browser tab.
  • Slug — the page’s URL path (for example /typography). It follows the title for a new page until you edit it by hand. A few words are reserved for the portal itself and cannot be used.
  • Audience — restrict the whole page to one or more audiences. See Audiences & access.
  • Show in menu — untick to keep the page reachable by its URL but hidden from the sidebar. Hidden pages carry a Hidden badge in the list.
  • Document mode — adds a presentation view of the page. See Document mode.

Below the settings are Set as home (the page served at /), Archive (removes the page from the site without deleting its content — archived pages are listed under Archive at the bottom of the modal, with a Restore button) and Delete. Deleting asks you to type the page’s name to confirm. The home page can be neither archived nor deleted; make another page home first.

Click + Add page to create a page. It is added at the end of the list with its title ready to type.

Every row has a drag handle on its left. Drag pages up and down to change the sidebar order; a thin line shows where the page will land.

Pages can be collected into collapsible sidebar sections. Click + Add group to create one — it appears with its Label field focused, and the pages count next to its name.

  • Label — the group heading shown in the sidebar. A group with no label displays as “Untitled group”.
  • Start collapsed — viewers see the group closed until they open it. While editing, groups are always shown open.
  • Delete group — removes the group only; its pages move back to the top level. You are asked to confirm when the group is not empty.

To put a page in a group, drag it onto the group; drag it back out to the top level, or into another group, the same way. Dragging a group’s handle moves the whole group with its pages.

Grouping is a sidebar concern only — a page’s URL and content are the same whether or not it sits inside a group.

Changes in the Pages modal apply to your working copy immediately and go live when you save or publish, like any other edit.
